I'll Take (a) Manhattan
We said goodbye to Horsham and got on the PA turnpike, and then the NJ turnpike. We went through the Lincoln Tunnel, drove into Manhattan and found our hotel easily. They let us check in right away, even though it was just 12:30. Our room is on the 14th floor, so we have a great city view,
especially at night. We're just 2 blocks from Times Square and the theater district.
After we got settled in our room we headed out for some lunch. We got genuine NYC hot dogs and some meat and cheese empenadas right in the middle of Times Square,
while the city bustled around us. Then we wandered around the M and M store,
Nintendo store, Coach store
and a few blocks north to Rockefeller Center, where the Today show, Tonight show, Saturday Night Live, and NBC news are broadcast. They were redecorating the Today Show set for Monday morning with red white and blue everywhere.
Then we found St. Patrick's Cathedral
and listened to the organist practice for a while. They were setting up to do a baptism, so we left. We headed back through Times Square and did some souvenir shopping, and then back to the Belvedere for a little rest.
Later we walked to the restaurant district on 10th avenue and found a highly rated Indian place called the Desi Deli.
We got a whole assortment of curries, vegetables, breads and iced green tea
and shared it until everyone was full. Great food at a an unbelievable price! The owner was very eager to please and very talkative.
We went back to see the lights and sights of Times Square at night.
We passed a movie crew filming at an apartment building on an adjacent street. It looked like the movie is about Lucy and Desi Arnaz.
We'll be keeping our eyes out for that one.
We watched some street performers and checked out some stores for a while. The kids rode in some off plastic chairs in the middle of the plaza at Broadway and 42nd street.
A light rain started to fall about 10:30 so we pushed out way through the after-theater crowd and returned to the hotel. We'll rest up for another busy day tomorrow. See you then!

I thought this $1600 leather jacket would be perfect for me to wear to school but Sarah said "No!"
Dinosaur made of Coach bags. Roar!
